figgy is a restaurant discovery tool for New York City. It combines public restaurant inspection data published by the City of New York with information gathered and summarized by artificial intelligence, including ratings, hours, tags, and dish suggestions. figgy is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene or any other government agency.
Content on figgy is provided for general information only. Inspection records reflect public data at the time we last synced it and may be outdated, incomplete, or superseded. AI-generated content (including tags, summaries, hours, dish suggestions, and search results) can be wrong. Restaurants change menus, hours, ownership, and practices without telling us. Always verify anything that matters, including allergen, dietary, and food-safety concerns, directly with the restaurant or official sources before relying on it.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, figgy and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including any decision made in reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed fifty US dollars ($50).
Do not misuse the Service: no scraping at abusive volume, no attempts to disrupt or overload it, no use of the Service to harass restaurants or people, and no reselling of the Service itself. The AI search is rate-limited and may be disabled at any time.
figgy links to third-party services such as reservation platforms, delivery apps, maps, and restaurant websites. Those services have their own terms and we are not responsible for them.
The figgy name, logo, and original content are our property. Public data remains subject to its own terms. You may share links to figgy freely.
We may update the Service or these terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in New York County, New York.
